Shanghai Research Institute of International Economy & Trade

Established in 1984, Sriet(Shanghai Research Institute of International Economy and Trade) is an independent scientific research applied association, under Shanghai Foreign Economic Relation and Trade Commission.

Sriet mainly focuses on the current situation of international economy and trade, conducts theoretical and practical surveys, put forwards study reports, consulting advice and suggestive policies, and serves the government and other related sections and enterprises. Sriet undertakes most of important subjects studies of consulting nature for Shanghai Municipal Government and the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China, and sends monthly report to the leaders of the municipal government and Ministry of Commerce for reference.

Sriet has close relationship and cooperate with the International Economy and Trade Commission under the Ministry of Commerce and related provincial international economy and trade research associations. It also has study exchanges and cooperation of different kinds with Unites Nations' related associations and research facilities from countries (or areas) such as Europe, USA, Canada, Japan, Hong Kong and Taiwan.

In the past few years, the institute has won a lot of prizes for our studies, which includes:

The first, second and third prizes as well as the excellence and organizing prizes for ¡°2005 China¡¯s Business Development¡± which is host by the Ministry of Commerce;

The third prize for ¡°2006 China¡¯s Business Development¡± which is host by the Ministry of Commerce;

The third prize for ¡°2006 The Development and Reform of China¡¯s Foreign Trade and Economy ¡± which is host by The International Trade Commission of China;

Three excellence prizes for the ¡°2006 The Study of China¡¯s Convention and Exhibition Economy¡± which is host by China Convention and Exhibition Society;

The second prize and third prizes for the 6th ¡°The Consulting and Decision-Making Studies for Shanghai ¡± which is host by the Municipal Government of Shanghai.
